People say that small things can make you happy. But when this small thing is given to you by a very special person, it won’t make you happy – it will mean the world to you. An ocean… or two can be separating you, but this one little gesture will have the power to bring you closer than ever. With one look or touch, all the memories will be rushing through your mind, competing for the most significant, the most energising or the clearest of all to prove you once again that no matter the distance, it takes only a small gift/bracelet to be connected again.
I’ve spend the last 7 years finding ways to explore cultures and contrasts by studying in different locations around the world. I thought it was a good strategy to pick a city or a country by the main criteria of having at least 10 other countries in a radius that you can draw with your fingers on a map. This strategy has taken me to places where people can only dream of having the courage to visit. Currently living in Australia- I’ve spend every spare second planning or actually travelling in its vicinity – Asia! The amount of emotions that you can experience in every single one of the countries there is so overwhelming and this experience can make you an entirely different person to what you were, before undertaking this journey.
Sometimes you just have to bring more humility, compassion, understanding and acceptance of what is, to make your life truly exciting and joyful. And the quickest way to do it, is by leaving your comfort zone, dusting off this bag pack in your closet, loading your IPod and jumping on that roller-coaster, which will start off slow, take you down, then up- but ultimately you’ll be able to say one day that you’ve been on that ride called Life.
People also say that travelling is the only thing that can make you rich! This is true for so many reasons, but mostly because you can’t attach a price on the memories and experiences you create while on the road, their value will increase every time you access this memory, while there is not a single gadget that you can obtain, which value won’t shrink the moment you scan it at that the cashier.
I’m Kristina, I’m 24 born in Bulgaria but have lived in places like Barcelona, Malta, Helsinki, Finland and Melbourne, Australia and through that I was lucky to visit over 50 countries in the past 6 years. From France to Brazil, through China, Cuba, Vietnam, Mexico and Russia, USA and Myanmar and basically all Asian and European countries. After meeting an insane amount of extraordinary people, I can say that I’ve learned how important is to:
Be present, Inspire, Move, Be bold, Be generous, Find the best in everyone you meet.
